Position Overview

RSEC Academy seeks a dedicated and compassionate English teacher to support students in grades 5–12.  This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive, collaborative environment with small class sizes and a total student enrollment of 34. The ideal candidate will bring strong instructional skills, genuine enthusiasm for working with diverse learners, and a commitment to fostering academic growth and confidence.

RSEC Academy is a special education day placement serving students with varying educational disabilities. Our mission is to provide individualized, evidence-based instruction in a nurturing setting that empowers students to reach their full potential. With small class sizes and a dedicated staff, we prioritize personalized attention and meaningful progress for every learner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging English language arts instruction tailored to students' individualized education plans (IEPs)

  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction based on individual learning needs

  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports academic and social-emotional growth

  • Collaborate with special education specialists, school counselors, and families to ensure coordinated, comprehensive support

  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to instructional planning

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with special education requirements

  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities

Required Qualifications

  • Valid New Hampshire teaching credential in English Language Arts or related field

  • Demonstrated experience teaching students with varying educational disabilities and learning needs

  • Strong knowledge of instructional strategies for diverse learners, including differentiation and scaffold techniques

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Collaborative mindset with a positive, flexible attitude

  • Ability to work effectively in a small-school environment with a commitment to school culture and mission

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with special education curriculum and practices

  • Familiarity with assistive technology and educational accommodations

  • Background in working with adolescents and pre-adolescents

  • Experience supporting students with emotional and behavioral challenges
