IT Administrator (Part-time)- RSEC

Job Title: Part-Time IT Administrator
Location: RSEC (Amherst and Deerfield, NH)                                                                                                                            Hours: 15 hours per week
Pay Rate: $60.00 per hour
Reports to: Executive Director

RSEC is a mission-driven non-profit organization operating four specialized educational facilities. Three of our schools serve students with educational disabilities in grades 5–12, and our fourth facility is a nurturing child care center. Position Overview:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Part-Time IT Administrator to manage and support all aspects of our organization’s IT infrastructure. This individual will be responsible for maintaining reliable, secure, and efficient systems across our four school sites. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skills and the ability to support a diverse team of educators and administrative staff with varying levels of technical proficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Systems Administration:

    • Maintain and monitor servers, networks, and IT infrastructure (both on-premises and cloud-based).

    • Oversee data backup systems and ensure disaster recovery readiness.

    • Ensure network security and manage firewalls, anti-virus software, and patch updates

  • Technical Support:

    • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 tech support to staff across all sites (remotely and in-person as needed).

    • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

    • Support staff with device setup, email issues, and software usage.

  • User & Access Management:

    • Manage user accounts, permissions, and email systems (e.g., Google Workspace or Microsoft 365).

    • Maintain documentation of IT assets, licenses, and user access controls.

  • Device & Classroom Technology:

    • Deploy and support laptops, desktops, tablets, printers, smart boards, and other instructional tech.

    • Coordinate repair or replacement of malfunctioning equipment.

  • Planning & Compliance

    • Advise on hardware/software upgrades and IT best practices

    • Ensure compliance with FERPA and other data protection standards applicable to educational settings.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an IT Administrator, IT Support Specialist, or similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of networking, servers, and cloud environments (e.g., Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft 365)

  • Proficiency with Windows and macOS systems, Chromebooks, mobile device management, and educational technology tools.

  • Experience supporting technology in a school or educational setting is preferred.

  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple school locations.

Additional Information:

  • This position is part-time, approximately 15 hours per week.

  • The role may require occasional on-site presence at each of the four schools (travel between sites required; mileage reimbursed if applicable).
