Expectations
It is an expectation of The Academy that ALL students will attend and participate in all Experiential/Adventure Activities throughout the school year. Along with this, students are expected to show progress and are graded in Advisory for the following:
- Positive participation
- Stretching comfort zones
- Communication/self advocacy
- Student's personal goals
Adventure Days include, but are not limited to:
Opening days Orientation Activities (ex: group games, hikes, ropes course, challenge activities, and other outdoor activities)
- Fall Retreat – a 3 day overnight trip for the whole school focused on Community Building
- Community Service days
- Challenge Days (Winter Adventure Day, Spring Adventure Day)
- Advisory Adventure Activities
After School Activities
(These are highly encouraged, but optional.)
- Sports teams (soccer, basketball, fitness activities)
- Social Events (sports games, movie nights, video games, music nights)
