Behavior Management

The RSEC Academy was part of a state program called Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) that was sponsored by The New Hampshire Center for Effective Behavior Interventions and Supports.  We adopted this program in the fall of 2004 and it has become our culture.

The program focuses on and rewards the positive things that students do in order to help those having a hard time understand what they should be doing.  Students are pre-taught the expected behaviors in the fall and then reminded on a daily basis by the behavior matrices that hang in all of the classrooms.  Below is a copy of the behavior matrix.

The students tickets build up to earn a large prize at the end of the year.  During the 2006-2007 school year students earned a day at The Fischer Cats Baseball stadium to watch a game.
